Abstract

This study explores human resource management in Islamic educational institutions, focusing on planning, recruitment, professional development, performance evaluation, and organizational culture. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, and staff.

The findings show that human resource management is not yet fully integrated. Planning tends to be reactive, while recruitment often relies on informal networks, which support institutional values but may limit professionalism. Professional development is implemented periodically without strong alignment to actual needs, and performance evaluation is mostly administrative rather than developmental. Organizational culture and leadership significantly influence the effectiveness of these practices, with collaborative environments showing better outcomes. The study concludes that the main challenge lies in the lack of integration among key HR components. A more strategic and holistic approach is needed to improve institutional quality
